OnePlus recently started rolling out the OxygenOS 4.5.7/8 update for the OnePlus which introduces EIS for 4K video recording and fixes plenty of other bugs. The company is rolling out the update incrementally so it will not be available to everyone immediately. If you cannot wait for the update to land on your device though, you can always sideload it manually.

The trick for getting the update to show up on your OnePlus 5 is pretty simple as well and does not require you to have access to a PC as well. Check out the steps below to know how you can manually pull and install the OxygenOS 4.5.8 on your OnePlus 5. Do note that the steps below are only intended for OnePlus 5 units running a completely stock build of OxygenOS with no custom recovery or other modifications made.

Step 1: Download a VPN app of your choice (Opera VPN or TunnelBear) from the Google Play Store. Proceed to select a VPN server from Canada or Germany. Selecting any other server will not make the update show up on your device.

Step 2: Now, head over to Settings -> System Updates and check for a new software update. The 300MB+ OxygenOS 4.5.8 OTA update should now show up on your OnePlus 5.

Step 3: You can start downloading the OTA update right away. Alternatively, you can first disconnect the VPN to ensure you are getting the maximum possible download speed. Once downloaded, simply install the update like you will install any other OTA update on the device.

Pretty simple, ain’t it? If you are facing any issues while trying to follow the above steps or are unable to manually pull the OxygenOS 4.5.8 update on your OnePlus 5 by following the above steps, drop a comment below and we will help you out.
