Huawei P30 Pro

Apart from excellent imaging capabilities, the Huawei P30/Pro series also has excellent video recording capabilities. Like other flagship smartphones, it can record 4K videos as well. But that’s not it, the phones can also record videos in slow-motion.

In addition to slow-motion videos, the Huawei P30/Pro can also record super slow-motion videos. The phones can record slow-motion videos in 4x (120fps), 8x (240fps), and 32x (960fps). Apart from the 4x slow-mo videos which are recorded in 1080p resolution, all other videos are recorded in 720p resolution.

If you have just got the Huawei P30 or the P30 Pro and are wondering how to record slow-motion videos, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open the Camera app and swipe to More tab. You should see the Slow-mo option at the top.

Step 2: Tap the slow-mo multiple located on the right side of the camera app. You can toggle between the different slow-motion modes from here.

Do note that 32x (960fps) videos are best shot when there’s plenty of light. Additionally, the quality is not going to be as good and these videos are limited to 0.4s and the total video length will be around 12-15s.

You are limited to recording slow-motion footage only from the primary 40MP camera. You cannot record slow-motion footage from the 5x optical zoom sensor or the ultra-wide angle shooter. However, super slow-motion videos (i.e. 960fps) can be recorded from the ultra-wide angle as well as the zoom sensor. This is because the 960fps videos are actually interpolated 480fps slow-motion videos. This is why their quality is nothing to speak about as well.
