Redmi K20 Pro and Google Cmaera

The Redmi K20 series comes with an impressive triple camera setup at the rear. They can take some impressive photos but one can further improve the overall image quality of the phones by using the modded Google Camera APK. Thanks to the wide community support, there is already an optimized version of the modded Google Camera (GCam) app for the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.

Using the modded Google Camera, one can enjoy superior image quality on the Redmi K20. The image quality is a notable step up from what the stock camera is able to capture. If you are looking to install the modded Google Camera APK on your Redmi K20 or Redmi K20 Pro and are wondering just how much of a difference it makes, check out the steps and comparison photos below.

Install Modded Google Camera APK on Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro

Download this modded Google Camera APK directly on your Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro from here. After that, proceed to install the APK. Once the app is installed, open it and proceed to grant it the necessary permissions.

You can now start clicking photos on your Redmi K20 or Redmi K20 Pro using the modded Gcam app.

Experience with Using Google Camera

Using the modded Google Camera on the Redmi K20 series is not without its own set of issues. For starters, the app does not support the ultra-wide angle and the telephoto sensor. This means right now, you can only capture photos using the primary 48MP Sony sensor from the Gcam app. The developer is working on adding support for the ultra-wide angle and the telephoto sensor but there are still some issues that need to be sorted.

I also noticed that many of the photos I captured with the modded GCam APK were simply not being saved. This is a deal-breaking bug in my opinion, though given how severe it is, it will likely be fixed in the next update by the developer.

Redmi K20 Pro Google Camera vs Stock Camera Comparison

From the below photos, you will see that the ones taken with Google Camera have more details and are sharper. The stock camera app takes brighter photos but at the expense of fine detail.
