The folks over at SamMobile are known for bringing the latest information about upcoming Samsung devices, and for leaking upcoming firmware updates for existing Samsung devices. Today, the team has leaked an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware for the Galaxy S III that gives us a sneak peek into all the new features that the company is working on bringing for its 2012 flagship.
The leaked firmware includes all the usual Android 4.2.2 features that Google introduced in Android 4.2 like Quick Settings, Day Dreams and lock screen widgets. Samsung is also going to bring some of the software gimmicks that it first introduced on the Galaxy S4. While not final, here is a list of features the leaked firmware packs -:
- New S-Voice
- Full screen Samsung Apps
- New Lock screen effect with lock screen widgets
- Day dream
- Driving Mode
- Quick Settings like on the Galaxy S4
- New tabbed interface for the Settings menu
- New screen modes (Adapt Display/Professional Photo)
- Updated UI for the Gallery app that looks unfinished
- Butter smooth performance
- Floating keyboard as seen on the Note 2
- New GPU drivers for improved performance
- No Photosphere
- Brand new music player with Smart Volume and Voice Control
Keep in mind that this is not the final Android 4.2.2 update for the Galaxy S III. The firmware is still under testing and development from Samsung, so the final firmware may have more or less features compared to the current leak. According to SamMobile, the official update for the S3 is expected to be available sometime in June
