Visa today announced its partnership with many financial institutions from around the world to offer a new mobile payment service.

Using Visa’s new mobile payment service is pretty easy, and only involves consumers downloading the app of their bank on their Android device, and then following a one-time enrollment process. Following the process, consumers will be able to “wave-and-pay” in retail stores through their Android device.

“2015 is the year in which fast and safe mobile payments based on Visa technology will proliferate across the world,” said Sam Shrauger, senior vice president of digital solutions at Visa Inc. “We are very proud that Visa’s Digital Solution is now accessible to the broader market to be used across multiple devices and form factors – enabling secure, fast and engaging commerce experiences in any environment.”

Visa’s technology relies on its own Visa Token Service and takes advantage of Host Card Emulation offered by Google in Android to bring its mobile payment service to millions of consumers worldwide.

The company has already teamed up with financial institutions like BBVA, Cuscal, Banco do Brazil, PNC Bank, N.A., U.S. Bank and more.
