An Android 4.4.3 firmware with Sense 6.0 has made its way to the Internet for the HTC One M7 in the form of a custom ROM, just a couple of weeks after Google rolled out the update for its Nexus and Google Play edition devices.

The leak comes courtesy of LlabTooFeR, a renowned developer in the HTC community and known for his MaximusHD series of ROM. The 4.4.3 based firmware for HTC’s last year flagship brings a number of improvements in the camera, battery and audio department. There is also an updated kernel and system apps indicating bug fixes, security patches and improvement in overall performance.

Android 4.4.3 contains a lot of under the hood improvements and bug fixes, which will not greatly affect the end users, but will make their devices secure. While HTC has not yet officially started rolling out the update, it is commendable to see that the company already has a working Android 4.4.3 based firmware.

Keep in mind that installing the firmware will require S-OFF and root access on your One M7, which might be a bummer for many. If you cannot wait for the official update to land, you can always head over to this XDA thread for the download link and installation instructions.

With Google already rolling out the Android 4.4.4 update, it is not yet known whether HTC will be releasing the Android 4.4.3 update for the One M7 and M8 or directly jump to the latest version of KitKat released last week.
