A leak has revealed that Samsung plans on bringing its new Grace UX —  as seen on the Galaxy Note 7 — to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge with the Android 7.0 Nougat update. In addition to the updated TouchWiz, Samsung also plans on bringing the improved Always On Display mode from the Note 7 to the Galaxy S7.

On the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the Always On Display mode is limited to display notifications from three system apps — emails, calendar, and dialer. This makes the feature of little use since one cannot check their unread notifications from other popular apps like WhatsApp and Gmail. The Always On Display on the Galaxy Note 7 shows notifications from all your apps, including Hangouts, Gmail, WhatsApp, and more that makes it more useful.

It remains to be seen if Samsung will also be bringing the Blue light filter feature from the Galaxy Note 7 to the S7 and S7 edge with the Nougat update. As of now, it is not yet clear when Samsung plans on rolling out the Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The company’s executive had promised to roll out Nougat for the Galaxy Note 7 within 2-3 months of its release, so it is likely that the Galaxy S7 will also receive its update somewhere around that time. This means that the Nougat update for Samsung’s flagship handset should land in November or December this year.
