If you’re using an Android device and not using SwiftKey, what’s wrong with you? I understand some of you are proud of the fact that you don’t pay for apps, but if you’re going to pay for just one, make sure it’s this third party keyboard. With that out of the way, let’s talk about the company’s new beta that just launched.

SwiftKey Beta 4.2.0.87 adds three new features: One, backup and sync. So say you install SwiftKey on a new phone today, use it for the next 12 to 18 months, and then replace your device. Instead of having to re-teach your keyboard everything about your typic style, you just click sync, and boom, you’re done. This also works if you have multiple Android devices.

Two, “Trending Phrases”. Is there something that everyone is talking about on Twitter? SwiftKey will take those trending words and put them in its dictionary so when you try and type them, they’ll be there for you.

And finally, “Enhanced Personalization”. If you give the company permission, they’ll scan your Gmail account and learn about how you compose sentences. Kind of creepy, but OK.

Luckily for you, the beta is free, but seriously, just buy the app.
