The people who don’t like it aren’t using it right.

1. Install XBMC. This is the ultimate media player for streaming media from computers on your network or for playing stuff of a connected USB device. Nothing on the mainstream consoles compares.
2. Install the Amazon App Store. You can do this by using the browser under “make”. Once installed, nearly all Amazon apps work, including my extensive free app of the day collection the Opera browser, VLC, Pandora, Netflix, Splashtop etc.
2.5. Speaking of Splashtop, it is free, and combined with a wireless Mouse and Keyboard and a Windows PC on your network, it basically turns the Ouya into a full Windows PC. Kainy (an Ouya native app) also lets you play PC games full screen with customizable controls, but isn’t as good as Splashtop for general PC stuff.
3. Check out some games. Sure 90% of them are awful and the way that they are sorted isn’t very good, but all of them are free to try, so why not download them all? Mixed in are some real gems. Lemegaton is the best Castlevania in many years, God of Blades is worth a few minutes if just for the trippy cutscenes, Monster RPG brings back the Final Fantasy 4 feel. Neon Shadow is a better Unreal Tournament game than many of the newer entries in the series.
