Thanks for this article; haven’t had my phone adjusted long enough to tell if there is more batt savings, but switching from LTE to 3g alone was a lifesaver in terms of signal strength. Stupid phone doesn’t know well enough to let go of as marginal LTE signal in favor of strong 3g.

You forgot to mention about the background sync of apps, specially Google apps (and some others that you just don’t need data fetching like Flipboard). If you turn them off, it’d save some juice too. Also turn off Google location report and location history (although history may be kept up as it doesn’t drain that much of battery). If you’re not happy with your battery after all these tips, then custom kernel should be your last bet.

In reply to Bob. this has made a big difference for me as well. definitely recommend it unles you are a big whatsapp user (which seems to break when enabling ART).

My battery life has improved by using ART instead of DALVIK. Got 40-50% at end of day instead of 20-30%.
