The Lenovo K6 Power and K6 Note are great phones for their respective price. While not as good as Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4, the handsets are still pretty good and offer great value for money. However, many Lenovo K6 Power/Note users have recently been complaining about issues with the microphone of the handsets.
An update to both handsets, the Lenovo K6 Power and K6 Note, seems to have broken the microphone functionality of the devices. Users of both handsets are complaining about the microphone volume being very low while on a call making one inaudible to the other party. Similarly, WhatsApp voice messages are also recorded with very low volume. The issue seems to affect almost every app or feature that makes use of the microphone.

The issue seems to stem from a recent software update and is an underlying issue, so there is little that can be done to completely fix the problem. However, by following the below steps, you can try and possibly solve the issue.
Uninstall/Reinstall Apps
If you are having trouble with the microphone recording quality being low in a particular app on your K6 Power or K6 Note, try uninstalling that particular app and reinstalling it. If the issue is with a particular VoIP app, try an alternative app as the issue can be with that particular app. Additionally, you can also try restarting your device to see if that fixes the issue once you re-install the affected app.
Do NOT Install Any Software Update
If you have not already installed the latest software update on your K6 Power or K6 Note, then avoid installing it. The microphone issue seems to have been started after installing the latest software update for most users so it is better to avoid installing it until Lenovo rolls out another update to fix it. Plus, once you end up installing the update, there is no way of rolling back to the previous version.
Use earphones
Until Lenovo rolls out an update to fix the microphone issue, you can use earphones to take calls on the Lenovo K6 Power/Note as a temporary workaround. Since the device will make use of the microphone that comes integrated into the earphones, you should not face any issues relating to the microphone while on a call or while sending WhatsApp voice messages.
Do a factory reset
If the above steps don’t work for you, try factory resetting your K6 Power/K6 Note. While this does mean that you will have to set up the phone again and reinstall all your apps, a factory reset is your best bet in fixing the microphone issue on the handset. If a factory reset does not solve the problem, though, there is not much that you can do. If you can, return the device in exchange for another one. If not, sit patiently until Lenovo identifies the bug behind the problem and rolls out a software update to fix it.
