I bought a Note 10.1 in February this year. I chose it over other tablets due to the S-pen. Since then I only use my Note 10.1 for note taking and in this respect it’s fantastic. However, in June I got a Galaxy S4… since then the Note 10.1 has served only two real purposes – note taking and listening to music and podcasts on the speaker. Even for reading the S4 is superior (screen quality). So, if you like taking notes by hand and then storing/sharing them, nothing touches the Note 10.1. But if that’s not your cup of tea, get an iPad or a cheaper Android slate.

Yes there is – if you can afford them – an iPhone and iPad is always the better option.

Out of principle, I won’t buy any device with an integrated, non-replaceable battery.
