LeEco, formerly Letv, launched its new mid-range handset in India: the LeEco Le 2. Successor to the Le 1s, the handset is among the very first smartphones in the market to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack in favour of a USB Type-C port.
Like the Le 1s, the Le 2 sports a full metal body with a 5.5-inch Full HD display at the front. There is also a fingerprint sensor located at the rear which the company claims is the first to make use of a 3D sensor.
While the Le 2 in China is powered by a MediaTek chipset, the Indian variant will be powered by a Snapdragon 652 chipset that is clocked at 1.8GHz. The handset also packs in 32GB of storage and 3GB RAM. There is no microSD card slot on the phone though, so the limited amount of storage space might be a hummer for many.

The Le 2 sports a 16MP f/2.0 shooter at the rear with dual-LED flash, while the front houses an 8MP camera with a wide-angle lens. The 7.5mm thick handset boasts of a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging capability. It runs on Marshmallow out of the box with Le’s own EUI 5.8 running on top of it. On the connectivity front, the handset boasts of dual-SIM connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE and VoLTE support, and more.
The handset will be available in Rose Gold, Silver, and Gray colors for Rs. 11,999. The handset will be available through Le’s own LeMall in India.
