A day after Google started rolling out a security and bug-fixing update for the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 4, the company has started rolling out another update, this time for the new Nexus 7. As always, there is no official change-log from Google, except for confirming that this update fixes the touchscreen issue that was reported by new Nexus 7 users.

The update bumps the Android build version to JSS15Q from JSS15J, and does not bring any other visible changes. Below is the official statement of Paul Wilcox, Google’s community manager on the update over at Google product forums

Hi everyone,

As a couple of you have mentioned, there’s a new system update that’s started rolling out for your Nexus 7s. This update does address the touchscreen issues discussed in this thread. If you’re one of the people experiencing touchscreen issues, please let us know how it’s going after you’ve received and installed the update.

Don’t go crazy and start mashing the Update button now. The initial batch is always selected randomly using the device ID and pressing the ‘Check for system updates’ option is going to do you no good.
