LG began the U.S.-based rollout of their newest G Pad tablets not too long ago, after unveiling the devices in May, and now it looks like AT&T will be the first of the major wireless carriers to launch the 7-inch variant.
Announced by AT&T on August 4, the LG G Pad 7.0 will launch on Big Blue’s network beginning August 8. On that date, you’ll be able to head into a store and pick up the tablet directly, or you’ll be able to order the device from AT&T’s website. In either case, you can make the tablet your own for only $.99 if you are also in the market for a smartphone, and opt to make it an LG-branded handset. That includes the LG G2, G3, or G Flex.
If you aren’t looking for a new phone, or just don’t want either one of those devices, you can choose to go with a two-year contract instead, which means you’ll have to fork over $149.99 to make it yours. If AT&T Next, and monthly installment plans are more your thing, it’ll be $0 down and $12.50 every month after that for 20 months.
The G Pad 7.0 features a 7-inch 720p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz under the hood, and a 5-megapixel camera on the back. The G Pad 7.0 comes with 8GB of built-in storage, but boasts a microSD card slot. It has 1GB of RAM and it’s running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The battery measures in at 4000mAh. It also connects to AT&T’s LTE network, just in case you aren’t around a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Is the G Pad 7.0 a compelling tablet, or do you want a bigger device?
