Alvin Kwock, an analyst at JPMorgan, says HTC’s One will help the company experience a “mini-turnaround”. He says that according to his checks, HTC shipped about 300,000 One units in March. They’re on track to ship 1.2 million units in April, and then in May that figure should hit 2+ million. Alvin says that the biggest threat to the One’s success is, obviously, the GS4, which goes on sale later this month in the UK, possibly even the United States.

Earlier today I shared a video that HTC published last Friday in an attempt to get people excited about the One. Today, on Monday, that video appears to have been removed, probably because of the negative feedback it received.

Now I’m not saying you should ignore the One. According to AnandTech, it’s the best smartphone to ever come out. Period. My friend James Whatley recently purchased a One with his own money and you can hear what he has to say about it on the weekly podcast we record. That being said, I’m more interested in what Samsung has to offer later this year, namely the Note III. I’m also waiting to see what differences the Exynos GS4 has compared to the Qualcomm equipped GS4.
