It has hardly been a week since Moto X has gone on sale, and we’re already hearing reports that Google’s Motorola plans to drop its price to $100 from $199.99.
@evleaks claims that Motorola will slash the price in Q4.
The 16GB Moto X is currently available for $199.99 and the 32GB model for 249.99 with a two-year contract.
It is not clear why Motorola is planning to slash the prices so soon, but the most obvious guess is that it is not selling as well as they had expected.
If you’ve waiting to get a Moto X with the wooden back covers, then the good news is that they will be available in Q4, and will be priced at $50.

The price drop is certainly going to make a lot of early adopters very angry.
