In just a few hours from now, Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. While quite a bit of information about the S5 has leaked online, no real life images of the device has made any kind of blurry cam appearance. However, it looks like thanks to a blooper from Samsung, we might have gotten our first look at the Galaxy S5 or one of its variant.
The folks over at SaudiAndroid managed to get their hands on a Galaxy S5 unit present at the Samsung counter in MWC. From the images posted by them, the S5 looks to retain the same design language as the previous Galaxy S devices, except that the menu button has been replaced with a Recents app key and it has a much more squared edges.
In the short video embedded below, you can also see the three different colors that the Galaxy S5 will be available in.
The images also show off the 16MP rear camera on the S5, along with a different looking LED flash and a sensor that is probably a heart rate monitor. Notice closely and you should see the huge microUSB port at the bottom covered by a flap in the video and images, which suggests that the S5 is going to come with same hideous looking microUSB 3.0 connector like the Note 3.

Samsung has been heavily criticized for the Galaxy S3 and S4 design and it is was widely expected that the company would release a new design language this year. However, the company has only slightly tweaked the design to accommodate a bigger screen, which looks even worse in my opinion.
It is very well possible that the images we are seeing above is of a Galaxy S5 Neo or the cheaper variant that has been rumoured since long. Thankfully, the suspense is not going to last long as Samsung’s Unpacked 5 event kicks off in a few hours at 20:00 CET.
One of the leaked images above also shows off the 2800mAh removable battery of the S5, which if correct, will be a modest update over the S4’s 2600mAh battery.
