Vivo, maker of the world’s thinnest smartphone, unveiled two new handsets today: the Vivo X6 and the Vivo X6Plus. With 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch displays, the X6 and X6Plus feature 6.9 mm thick metal bodies, a fingerprint sensor and 4GB of RAM, in addition to other high-end specs.

Both phones have an AMOLED display with Full HD resolution; it’s a good thing these aren’t Quad HD screens, as the processor ticking away inside is a not-so-powerful MediaTek MT6752 (with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz). There’s a 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) on the back, and an 8-megapixel camera on the front for the all-important selfies. The two phones support 4G LTE connectivity and feature a Hybrid slot that can either accommodate two SIM cards or a single SIM and a microSD card.

The Vivo X6 comes with 32GB of internal storage, while the X6Plus offers 64GB. Keeping the lights on are 2,400 mAh and 3,000 mAh batteries with support for fast charging, and you get Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The software is wrapped under Vivo’s “Funtouch OS”, which is to say it’s heavily skinned as is expected from smartphones from most Chinese manufacturers. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back and can unlock the screen in 0.4 seconds.

The X6 and X6Plus also look rather similar to the iPhone, especially from the back, but that’s another aspect that shouldn’t really surprise anyone. The phones will be available in gold, silver and rose gold colors from December 7th and December 15th respectively, with prices starting at 2,498 Yuan (roughly $390) and 2,998 Yuan (roughly $468) for the China Unicom variants. There will also be two regular variants not tied to any carriers; the standard X6 will cost 2,598 Yuan (roughly $405) and the X6Plus will cost 3,198 Yuan (roughly $500).

There’s no word on a launch in other markets, but like the Vivo X5 Max, we should see both devices become available for sale in a handful of countries in the future.
