After rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the unlocked HTC 10, the Taiwanese OEM has now announced that it will start rolling out the Nougat update for its 2015 flagship, the HTC One M9, from later today.

The Taiwanese OEM is rolling out the Nougat update for the unlocked version of the One M9 for now, with carrier variants of the handset to follow from early next year. If you are in the United States and own the unlocked variant of the One M9 that was purchased directly from HTC, you should see the Nougat OTA update land on your device within a week or two.

The Nougat update will introduce new features like multi-window multitasking, redesigned notification experience, Direct Reply, a redesigned Settings menu, and more. While it won’t fix the overheating issues that plague the Snapdragon 810 chipset inside the One M9, it will at least make the experience of using the handset better.

With the Nougat update now rolled out for the 10 and One M9, HTC is now the only OEM in the market that has rolled out the latest and sweetest version of Android for its flagship handsets for both 2016 and 2015. Besides HTC, LG and Motorola are the only other OEMs to have rolled out Nougat updates for their handset, but both OEMs have done so for their 2016 flagship handsets only.
