I really don’t think any of the games mentioned use more than 30MB of data/per hour at the very maxmium.

This author wrote excellent descriptions of these games and thankfully wrote that WGT stores most data on a server that IS NOT your phone. But not everyone has unlimited data…and for me that includes my home WIFI.

I wish techies would stop referring to all WIFI like its free. Someone is paying for it and not everyone has massive pipelines of cheap data coming in to their homes. Some of us still live away from curbs and concrete out here in flyover county.

So it looks like the only golf game worth my time on the android is the one game that requires potentially a lot of data use…but I wouldn’t know because no one seems to ever consider data as a commodity anymore.

Thanks for this review. Nothing aggravates me more than apps that call themselves “free” and then attempt to fleece you the entire time you are playing.

When I can buy a good game up front after a free trial to be sure I like it, I would gladly pay $10 or more for it, especially if that bought me future downloads of the game if I change phones and there were no ads, or cheesy energy, power-ups, or stupid gizmos to deal with. I just want to play the danged game.

It seems there is really nothing out there that treats us like adult consumers, allows us to simply buy a game and play the danged thing…in the middle of a filed with no data connection. This is why I dont play many games…I suppose I’m too “grown up” for people “playing games” with me.

And they’re about to shut down one of my favorite games, despite the freemium crap, 9 Innings 2016 in December to make room for “MLB 9 Innings 2016.” They are truly greedy, but damnit their games are fun!
